Spherical sculpture, 300mm diameter hand-built stoneware clay.
David describes his inspiration and the construct behind the piece ‘This sculpture is inspired by the natural sand formations at low tide. The heavy cranked clay is both sanded and burnished to give a contrast in textures.’
This spectacular handmade creation is on display and available to purchase as part of our ‘Elements Unleashed’, 17 April to 12 May 2024 an exhibition of works by David Pointer - Ceramics and Sarah Hornby - Paintings.
This sculpture is high-fired stoneware clay which makes it suitable for both indoor and outdoor display.
